Pharm.D is a six-year professional degree recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The program is designed to prepare students for a clinical and patient-oriented role in pharmacy practice, integrating a broad foundation in biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and advanced clinical training.

Structure of the Program
The six-year curriculum is divided into two phases:
Phase I (Years 1 to 5):
Comprehensive coursework in foundational biomedical subjects, pharmaceutical sciences, and clinical pharmacy. The curriculum includes diverse learning methods such as:
- Case-based and problem-based learning
- Simulation exercises
- Seminars and assignments
- Bedside teaching and case discussions
- Practice site visits
- Group activities
Phase II (Year 6):
A one-year internship (residency training) through rotational postings in various hospital departments. During this phase, students are trained in real-time clinical settings under the supervision of professionals, equipping them to function independently in pharmacy practice.
Assessment & Examinations
- Formative Assessment: Minimum of two internal assessments per subject each academic year (Max. Marks: 30)
- Summative Assessment: One annual university examination per subject (Max. Marks: 70)
- Exam Format: Includes both written and practical (including viva voce) components
- Result Compilation: Combined scores of formative and summative assessments are reflected in the final report card.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the course and passed any of the following examinations
- D.Pharm qualifying examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act
OR
- 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Mathematics or Biology.
