Library and Information Center

HKES,MTRIPS Library is known as the Information Resource Centre which supports teaching, learning and research and which is the heart of the academic centre with an aim to provide ‘Anytime, Anywhere Access’ to information and knowledge.

It is located at the first floor of the College building in a clean and quiet atmosphere. The centre is well furnished with wooden reading tables with separate lighting system and comfortable chairs, journal s & new arrival display racks and one charging and discharging counter. The library is computerized by the Library Management Software  to achieve the accuracy and speed up the transactions.

HKES,MTRIPS Library have printed as well as electronic resources which include books, journals, databases, AVs, CDs/DVDs, e-books, e-journals, reports, course materials, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, manuals, Back Volumes of various pharmaceutical disciplines. Currently the library holds over 9120 books, 10 print journals, provides access to 1500 e-journals, electronic databases, newspapers, and magazines, 120 multimedia resources.

Mission

HKES,MTRIPS  library is a vital center of knowledge for college students & staff. It provides traditional & innovative library services to right user at right time, which reflects the diverse & dynamic spirit of JSS University community.

Objectives

Provide reading habit among the students Support teaching, learning & research activities. Provide user friendly atmosphere. Serve as an information resource centre of the college where information will be acquired, analyzed and stored, disseminated and used by all those seeking to learn, discover and create new knowledge.

Internet & Information Centre

The library has a well equipped information centre, a internet section with a dedicated lease line to cater the need of the students regarding their internet services .It has 20 PCs and other accessories to cater to the needs of users to access, databases, e-books, e-journals and other e-resources. The entire library and the campus is in Wi-Fi enabled and the internet access is given for staff and student free of cost . Users are allowed to use their laptops in the library. Photocopying facility is available in our library for both students and staff at a nominal cost.

Saturday : 10:00 AM to 01:30 PM

Objectives :

  • To provide the opportunity to the staff and students to discuss information needs and expectations .
  • To advise library on policy matters concerning services and facilities.
  • To provide the opportunity to the staff to discuss the initiatives for the growth and enrichment of the library.
A set of Rules & Regulations are strictly to be followed
  • Library ID Card is compulsory for getting access to the library.
  • Silence to be maintained.
  • No discussion permitted inside the library.
  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library.
  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed in the reference hall.
  • Using Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Enter your Name and Sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering library.
  • The Librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Users can borrow 2 books for a week and can be renewed the same for a period of one week, after that Per day Rs. 2/- fine is calculated.
  • Duplicate library ID card will be available on the charge of Rs 50/-
